Do You Need More than One Logo for Your Business?
Ó
Copyright September 2005 Kris Williams
It is a simple question really and is something you
should think about if you have a business or are contemplating about
starting a business. The reasons are just as simple too, but let me
explain further…
A Logo is usually the first thing a customer, reader,
or potential client sees when searching for a business or product. Logos
have a proven track record for creating more sales for a company and if it
is designed and tailored correctly, it can enhance selling that product or
products even more. All of this you already knew already right?
Let’s continue then.
Here are some additional questions that might trigger
some thoughts about whether you need an additional Logo or not.
- Is your LOGO the best it can be? Can it be
improved upon?
- What if your LOGO never sells your company or
sales are poorly because of that LOGO? Would a NEW LOGO help to sell the
a particular product even better than before?
- Is your LOGO professional enough?
- Is there creativity and/or originality with your
LOGO? Does it stand out above all others?
- What if your website or stationary needs
additional sizes of your LOGO graphic? Do they rely on one graphic and
then blow it up, or do you have more than one graphic available in
various sizes, mediums, and graphic types?
- What about backgrounds? What if you need to submit
your LOGO to a printer or other company that has a background other than
white? Do they change or alter your image or do you?
- What about the presentation of your LOGO? Is it a
FLAT image or 3 dimensional? Is it at a SLANT or is it similar to every
other LOGO out there?
You might be thinking to yourself right about now,
that perhaps a second or additional Logo might be useful. And I quite
agree! Personally, I believe every good business has an additional Logo to
sell their product(s) and name!
For example if you have a two-dimensional Logo, I
would strongly encourage that you try creating an additional cover or
more! There are several Logo styles out on the market to included a 3D
versions and/or you might want to consider hiring a professional to create
that quality Logo above and beyond the rest.
Here are a few tips to consider when you are either
thinking about a NEW Logo, hiring a professional, or even just creating it
yourself with a DIY template.
- Make sure the entire graphic template is clean,
neat, and professional in appearance.
- Make sure the image is original and creative, but
try not to over do and/or make it too busy.
- Use examples of other logos that you like to
inspire you to create or your professional to create something similar,
but yet original.
- Acquire more images in different sizes (some logos
do not reduce or enlarge well). Three sizes will generally work well to
your advantage.
- Try out some different background colors or even a
background color that matches your website colors(s).
- Use color if at all possible, but also have a
handy black and white version available!
- Start Fresh with a whole New look for your logo,
do not re-create what you already have for the company logo. Keep this
as a back-up or use as competition to your original logo, see what sells
your name and product(s) more.
- Try adding photographs or a new graphic to your
logo or additional text like a catchy phrase or sub-title to enhance the
cover. This does not work for all logos!
- Know when to hire a professional! If you can’t get
your business logo just right, then don’t settle for less and hire a
professional to get the proper results. Shop around and find the best
deal too!
- Watch out for sub-standard logo templates, there
are many out there and many should very much be avoided. Check out
http://www.eLogo.us or
http://www.DataWorkZ.com for more logo styles and pre-made logos,
which are made for the DIY Author on up-to the professional business
entrepreneur.
- Try a new style or medium for the logo. There are
certainly many, many of them to choose from out there, and they can
include textures, image formats, and even change of font. Be aware of
your options, as you shop around.
Basically the options are unlimited these days since
there are many FREE templates available, pre-made templates to choose
from, and various sizes, shapes, styles, colors, business images, and
more. Your professional logo designer usually has their own unique
techniques and styles to offer as well.
You have heard the phrase “a picture is worth a
thousand words” all your life. An original and unique logo can be worth
its weight in gold, so why not have an additional logo to help you sell
that product or company. Your clients might just thank you for it!
Think outside the box and get creative. You will need
an additional logo to gain an edge over your competition or to improve
your business image with various business clients, so get out there and
get it done already.
